Census count means jobs for Laborers

Dear Fellow Laborer:

The time has come for all Americans to fill out the Census for their Household. This is not just an exercise to count our population – in fact, Census results determine the level of federal funding and private investment for important projects and programs in our communities.

Many people received a mailing from the Census Bureau earlier this Spring that included a code to enter when filling out their Census online. Some people also may have received a paper copy of the Census to fill out and mail back. If you or someone in your Household has already filled out the Census: Thank you!

If you haven’t yet filled out the Census, please visit https://my2020census.gov/ as soon as possible.

If you do not have the mailing from the Census with the code, or you do not have Internet access, and you have not already filled out the Census, you can fill out the Census over the phone by calling 844-330-2020.

Results from the Census help determine…

• How much construction funding your state gets from the federal government for highway, bridge, and other kinds of transportation work.

• Where new hospitals, schools, and other big building projects will be built.

• How much funding is available for economic development for new businesses that create local jobs in your community, including programs designed specifically for rural areas.

• How much disaster relief is sent to repair, rebuild, or replace damaged buildings and infrastructure.

An accurate Census means more jobs for Laborers and more resources for our community. We are counting on you!
