Update Regarding Covid-19 information and resources

As we go forward through the Covid-19 Crisis, we want to do our best to keep our members up to date with the latest information and resources available to us. Any information extended to us will be posted on our site as we will do our best to keep you informed.
We will ensure that Local 773 addresses this crisis responsibly while keeping our members and staff safe. As the risk of the virus has grown during the last week, the officers and staff have been successfully developing plans to continue our operations and essential services via our technology. Our strategy is an excellent plan to carry out the day to day operations without disruptions.
1.) The office will remain open for staff to perform essential services, however the front lobby will remain closed to walk-in services.
2.) Re registration dates for Construction is postponed indefinitely. Members are encouraged to update their skills and dues checkoff and mail them back to the office so we will be ready to send you to work. Remember to complete the expiration dates of Flaggers/ OSHA or other certifications. This is essential.
3.) Apprentice Applications which normally take place on the first Tuesday of each month are suspended indefinitely.
4.) April 10th Monthly meeting is cancelled.
5.) April 4th Retiree Luncheon as well as April 4th Easter Egg Hunt is cancelled. The Retiree Luncheon is postponed until June 6th TENTATIVELY.
6.) The Connell F. Smith Scholarship applications deadline is extended through April 30th.
7.) We’ve had a very busy week in Construction. All indications from the state, the Regional office and our contractors lead me to believe they are planning to work as long as the can.

8.) We have shared a lot of info recently regarding the current situation at your workplaces. We would like to share with you a link to the DOL Website that we feel offers a lot of quality information that address the questions our members and employer partners may have.

9.) The Laborers’ Health & Safety Fund of North America (LHSFNA) recognizes that LIUNA signatory employers are committed to ensuring the safety and health of their workforce, including taking the appropriate steps to limit the spread of the novel coronavirus known as SARs-CoV-2 and the disease it causes, COVID-19.
The Fund has developed recommended actions and guidance that construction employers and workers can follow to limit the spread of the virus and reduce risk on construction sites. That guidance, along with the Fund's Coronavirus & COVID-19 fact sheet, is available on the Fund's homepage at www.lhsfna.org. Click the buttons below to go directly to these documents and download a PDF.

The Fund is developing additional materials related to preparedness and the mental health impacts of the novel coronavirus that will be available in the coming days. For questions about these materials or the novel coronavirus in general, please email lifelines@lhsfna.org.
Determining Risk for Construction Workers
Currently, construction is classified as a lower risk occupation according to the OSHA’s Occupational Risk Pyramid for COVID-19. Current information suggests COVID-19 is spread through:
• Close personal contact, such as touching or shaking hands, followed by touching the mouth, nose or eyes
• Airborne respiratory droplets expelled during regular talking and breathing as well as coughing and sneezing
• Touching a contaminated surface or object, then touching the mouth, nose or eyes
Because of these transmission methods, being in close proximity (within but not limited to six feet) to an infected person can result in transmission. Enclosed spaces (e.g. trailers, toilets), confined spaces and any space with recycled air presents additional exposure risk and should be avoided as much as possible.

10.) Important contact information:
