It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our esteemed President Emeritus Edward M. Smith who passed away January 3rd, 2024 leaving a void that will be felt deeply by all of us in the entire members as a whole.

Ed was not only a visionary leader but also a mentor and inspiration to many within our organization. His dedication, passion, and tireless efforts played a pivotal role in shaping the success of Local 773, and the Laborers’ Union as a whole.

During this challenging time, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Ed’s wife Betty, our Local 773 President and Ed’s son Matt, Ed’s daughter Jordan and their families. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they navigate through this difficult period.

In the coming days, we will provide information about memorial services and ways for our members and the community to pay tribute to Ed.

As we mourn the loss of a remarkable leader, let us also celebrate Ed's legacy and the positive impact He had on our organization.
